From the moment I stepped onto the James Madison Campus, I knew it would be my home one day. I can’t really explain it other tan it just felt like God was telling me this was going to be the place for me. I didn’t think the school could get any better; they have an amazing journalism program, they’re close to Washington D.C., (where I hope to work one day), and they are an hour away from my family who live in Palmyra, VA. But then, I met the JMU coaching staff and I fell even more in love with the school. The way they made me feel so at home, and encouraged me to follow my dreams of being a collegiate athlete was more than I could ever ask for, and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to call myself a Duke!
Other Facts:
⁃I plan to major in journalism and minor in political science
⁃I couldn’t have done this without the support of God, and my family. The amount of money, time, emotional and physical toll they have had to endure over the years has been more than I could ever ask for and they did so without any complaints because they knew this was my ultimate goal. Without their constant guidance and support of ALL my dreams there’s no way I would be where I am today.
⁃I have always wanted to go to college on the east coast, and Virginia was actually the exact state I wanted to attend college in.
⁃Coach Loren LaPorte (head coach), Coach Jennifer Herzig (assistant coach), and Coach Libby (pitching coach), are all the coaches on the JMU staff.
⁃I have attended 4 JMU camps so far, and accepted their offer a day after it was extended to me.
