Courtney Rose is a Torero!

The recruiting process is rarely linear and predictable. For 2019 Courtney Rose, last summer started one way and ended in a completely new direction. The ultimate prize was her commitment to play softball next year at the University of San Diego.

Courtney explains what happened: I came to the Sting in the middle of last summer because my previous team suddenly disbanded. I had a friend on the 16u Sting team that asked Coach Bob if I could join. After only playing for Sting in two or three tournaments, I was offered a spot to go play for USD. It happened fast. After our Huntington Beach showcase, the USD assistant coach invited me for an unofficial visit on the next day. I immediately loved the campus and all the historic building structures. Coach Mac was so nice and helpful to answer any questions I had. It was really easy for me to make the decision to become a Torero.

Next fall, Courtney will join current Sting alum, Lauren Hendrickson, on the USD field. For now, you can watch her pitch with the Sting 18 Gold-Gron team as she prepares for Division I softball.

Congratulations Courtney!
